The Chechen football selection is not recognized by the international football associations AFC , UEFA and FIFA . Therefore, the team is not entitled to participate in international competitive games. However, several friendlies have been played against other non-FIFA members.

successes

The Chechen football team took part in the 2005 UNPO Cup in The Hague . In addition to Chechnya, only three other football selections took part, those from South Cameroon , West Papua and South Moluccas . In the semifinals, Chechnya beat South Cameroon on penalties after standing 2-2 after regular time. The final, however, was lost 3-1 against the South Moluccas.
