Eddie Albin Alexander Granlund (born September 1, 1989 in Parainen ) is a Finnish national football player on the position of right full-back . He is currently under contract in Sweden with the local first division club Örebro SK .

Career

society

Granlund started playing football in his hometown at Pargas IF . After gaining his first experience in professional football there, he moved to Åbo IFK in 2008 . In 2010 he joined Rovaniemi PS and established himself there as a regular player. Although the club shuttled between the first and second division in Granlund's time, this did not change its regular appearances. In 2010, the full-back moved to Rovaniemi PS and became a regular player straight away. At his next station, the IFK Mariehamn , he quickly established himself in the starting line-up. A knee and a thigh injury prevented more frequent missions, although he became an important part of the team. Soon he was considered one of the best full-backs in the Finnish first division. In 2015 he was Finnish cup winner with Mariehamn and Finnish champion in 2016. In 2018 he moved to the stronger Swedish first division for Örebro SK . Since then, he has rarely been used in his traditional position of right defender, but rather on the left wing and in central defense.

National team

On August 31, 2016, Granlund was in the squad of the Finnish national football team for the first time in the 2-0 defeat against Germany , but was not used. He made his debut when he came on for Juha Pirinen in the 78th minute of the 1-0 win against Morocco by coach Markku Kanerva . With Finland he also took part in the 2018/19 UEFA Nations League , where the Finnish team were promoted from Group C to Group B.
