Pyry Henri Hidipo Soiri (born September 22, 1994 in Ekenäs ) is a Finnish - Namibian football player . Soiri can be used in attacking midfield and in attack. He is used in the Finnish national team.

Soiri was born to a Finnish mother and a Namibian father. He spent most of his childhood in Africa.

After Soiri started playing football in Helsingin Pallo-Pojat , he switched to the offspring of the first division club Myllykosken Pallo at the age of 15 . Due to his talent, he was taken over into the squad of the first team in 2011, with which he played his first adult game on January 20, 2012, when he replaced Ville in the league cup in the 4-0 defeat at HJK Helsinki nine minutes before the end Saxman was substituted on. On April 19, 2012 Soiri made his championship debut in the 2-0 home win against FF Jaro , when he came on in the 90th minute instead of Niko Kukka .

In June 2012 Soiri was awarded first to Järvenpään Palloseura (two games) and then to Kotkan Työvänen Palloilijat (twelve games) to gain match practice.

At the beginning of the 2013 season Soiri developed into the regular strength of the first team of Myllykosken Pallo and played 23 of 33 league games. On September 16, 2013 he scored his first championship goal in the 3-2 defeat at IFK Mariehamn . With Myllykosken Pallo, Soiri made it into the qualification for the 2014/15 UEFA Europa League and thus into the international field of vision. In the first round ÍF Fuglafjørður was defeated with an aggregate result of 1-0. In the second round it was against FK Dinamo Minsk with a total score of 0: 3. Soiri was used in all four games.

At the beginning of the 2015 season, Soiri moved to Vaasan PS within the Veikkausliiga , where he became a regular player straight away and only missed one game in the first season because he was called up for the national team . With Vaasan PS he also made it into the qualification for the UEFA Europa League , where however already in the first round against AIK Solna with an overall result of 2: 6. In the 2016 championship he was able to book 30 appearances in which he scored ten goals.

At the beginning of 2017 Soiri moved to Belarus to FK Shakhtsor Salihorsk . In the first season he was used in 22 of 30 games in the Wyschejschaja Liha . He also managed with the club to qualify for the UEFA Europa League , in which after the first round against Sūduva Marijampolė after the aggregate result of 1: 2 was the last stop. After things did not go as planned at the beginning of the 2018 season, a new coach, Sergei Taschujew , was appointed who preferred other players. For this reason, his contract was terminated in summer 2018 and Soiri moved to Austria to FC Admira Wacker Mödling on August 10th .

For the 2019/20 season he moved to Denmark to Esbjerg fB , where he received a contract that ran until June 2022.

National team

Soiri was allowed to wear the Finnish national jersey for the first time on October 9, 2013. The friendly international match of the U20s against the U19s of Sweden was lost 2-1, but was still a success for him, because he was able to take the lead to 1-0 in the 31st minute of the game. Only a few days later, on October 15, 2013, he was appointed to the squad of the Finnish U21 national team against Moldova for the qualifier for the U21 European Championship , in which he was not used. On June 1, 2014, he was finally allowed to make his debut with a short appearance in the second leg of the U21 European Championship qualification against Moldova in a 1-0 victory.

On October 6, 2017, Soiri made his debut for the Finnish national team in the qualifying game for the 2018 World Cup against Croatia under team boss Markku Kanerva . This was successful, because although he was only substituted in the 80th minute instead of Përparim Hetemaj , he was able to score the equalizer for the 1-1 draw in the 90th minute. Further team goals followed on November 9, 2017 in a 5-0 win over Estonia and on March 26, 2018 in a 5-0 win against Malta .
