Le Bataclan '72 is a live album by Lou Reed , John Cale and Nico . It was recorded on the mixer and widely distributed as a bootleg over the years before officially released in 2004.

production

The album was recorded during a live performance on January 29, 1972 at the Bataclan in Paris and originally broadcast on French television. For the first time since The Velvet Underground was broken up , Reed, Cale and Nico stood together on stage.

publication

After the recording had been circulating as a bootleg for years, Le Bataclan '72 was officially released on October 19, 2004 with two exclusive bonus tracks (test recordings of Pale Blue Eyes and Candy Says ). Due to a problem with the tape transfer, the speed is too slow compared to the original concert. A speed-corrected version is available on iTunes, but it is attributed to The Velvet Underground rather than individual artists.
