Jere Juhani Uronen (born July 13, 1994 in Turku ) is a Finnish football player who has been under contract with KRC Genk since 2016 . The left full-back has been a Finnish international since January 2012 .

Career

Uronen was born in Turku and trained at the local association TPS. There he made his debut for the combat team on June 12, 2011, at the age of 16. On July 31, he scored his first goal in professional football in the 2-4 home defeat against FC Honka Espoo .

On January 1, 2012 Jere Uronen moved to the Swedish first division club Helsingborgs IF . The transfer fee amounted to 700,000 euros. He made his competitive debut for HIF on March 12, 2014 when he was substituted on for the game against IFK Norrköping .

Uronen played for Helsingborg in 71 games in which the full-back scored five goals and nine assists.

In January 2016 Uronen signed a contract with the Belgian club KRC Genk .

National team

Uronen made his debut for the Finnish U-21 selection on August 8, 2011, at the age of 17, in a qualifying match against Slovenia .

On May 26, 2012 he made his debut for the Finnish senior team . In the 3-2 win against Turkey , Uronen was used over the full distance.

In the friendly against Belarus he scored his first goal for the national team when he scored the opening goal to make it 1-0 in a 2-0 win.
