Maarten Vandevoordt (born February 26, 2002 in Sint-Truiden ) is a Belgian footballer who currently plays as a goalkeeper for KRC Genk .

Career

Vandevoordt played as a youth player for VV Brustem Centrum, VV St. Truiden and KRC Genk. He made his professional football debut on September 24, 2019 for Genk against KSK Ronse in the Belgian Cup . He played for the first time in Division 1A on December 7, 2019 in an away game against Cercle Bruges , which ended 2-1 for Genk. On December 10, 2019, Vandevoordt became the youngest goalkeeper in UEFA Champions League history with a 4-0 loss to SSC Napoli . That same season he also played for Genk in the UEFA Youth League .

On December 13, 2019, Genk announced the extension of his contract until summer 2023.

National team

He has represented several youth selections from Belgium so far. He took part in the U-17 European Championship 2018 and the U-17 European Championship 2019 with his home country .
