Junya Itō ( Japanese 伊 東 純 也 , Itō Junya ; born March 9, 1993 in Yokosuka ) is a Japanese football player .

Career

society

Itō played for Kanagawa University in his youth . Ito made his professional debut in 2015 in the ranks of Ventforet Kofu . In 2016 he switched to Kashiwa Reysol .

In February 2019 he was loaned to the Belgian club KRC Genk until the end of the 2020/21 season with an option to buy. In the first season he was Belgian champion with Genk.

At the end of March 2020, the club withdrew the option to purchase at the end of the 2019/20 season and concluded a new contract with Itō until the end of the 2022/23 season.

National team

Itō was appointed to the squad of the Japanese national soccer team in 2017 and was used in the 2017 East Asian Cup . By the end of 2019, he had played a total of 17 international matches for Japan.
