Jhon Jader Lucumí Bonilla (born June 26, 1998 in Cali ) is a Colombian football player on the position of central defender . He is currently under contract with the Belgian first division club KRC Genk from Division 1A . In 2019 he also made his debut in the senior national team of Colombia.

Career

Jhon Lucumi started playing football when he was young at his home club Deportivo Cali . At the start of the 2015 season, he was given a contract for the club's first men's team and remained loyal to it until 2018. In the league, he played a total of 42 times for Deportivo and also took part with the club in the Colombian Cup and the Copa Libertadores 2016 .

In the summer he moved to the Belgian series champion KRC Genk in the Pro League in Europe. He received a contract until 2022. Together with his teammates, he became Belgian champion in 2019. In 2019 he will also take part in the Champions League with his team . Lucumí scored his first goal for his Belgian club in his first Champions League game in the 2: 6 opening defeat in Group E against FC Red Bull Salzburg .
