Benjamin Nygren (born July 8, 2001 ) is a Swedish football player .

Career

Benjamin Nygren started playing football as a child at Utbynäs SK. At the age of twelve he joined the youth academy of IFK Göteborg . After Nygren signed his first professional contract in May 2018, he played for the first time in a competitive game at the age of 17 in August 2018 in a 4-0 win in the second round of the Swedish Cup against third division team Torns IF. On October 31, 2018, Nygren finally made his debut in the Allsvenskan against Djurgårdens IF . On November 11, 2018, he scored his first two goals in the league game in a 3-1 win against Örebro SK .

Benjamin Nygren moved to the Belgian Pro League for KRC Genk for the 2019/20 season . There he signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2024.

National team

Nygren took part in the 2018 European Championships with the Swedish U-17 team. In this tournament he came to four missions and scored one goal, the Swedish U-17 were eliminated in the quarter-finals against Italy (0: 1).
