Christo Bonew ( Bulgarian Христо Бонев ; born February 3, 1947 in Plovdiv ) is a former Bulgarian football player and coach.
He played 96 international matches for Bulgaria between 1967 and 1979, scoring 48 goals.
With the Bulgarian national team Bonew took part in the soccer world championships in Mexico in 1970 and in the Federal Republic of Germany in 1974 , where he was able to score one goal each.
Furthermore, Bonew coached the Bulgarian national team in 1998. From September 9, 2000 to May 1, 2001 Bonew coached FC Sachsen Leipzig .
