Frank Puchtler
Frank Puchtler (born April 1, 1962 in Limburg an der Lahn ) is a German SPD politician . On May 25, 2014 he was elected district administrator for the Rhein-Lahn district . He was appointed and sworn in on July 1, 2014.
Education, work and family
Puchtler graduated from the Staatliches Gymnasium Diez (today's Sophie-Hedwig-Gymnasium ) in 1981 and then did his military service in Koblenz and Montabaur , where he was deployed as a squad leader. From 1983 to 1985 he trained as a banker . He then attended the savings bank academy, which he graduated as a savings bank economist. He then completed a trainee program at Nassauische Sparkasse . In 1992 he passed his trainer examination at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK). In the course of his professional career he worked in all areas of the financial business from the head office, branch, securities department, private customer advisory, credit department, legal department, corporate division and until 2001 as corporate customer advisor at Nassauische Sparkasse. He was also involved as a Verdi member in the local and general staff council. From 2008 to 2010 he graduated from the Leadership Academy of Social Democracy in Berlin.
Frank Puchtler is married and has one son.

At 17, Puchtler joined the SPD Oberneisen , which he has been chairman of since 1998. At the age of 22 he was elected a member of the Oberneisen local council, of which he was a member for 30 years. Five years later he became the deputy mayor of his home municipality. He gained further administrative experience from 1999 onwards as the deputy mayor of the Hahnstätten community , of which he was a member of the community council from 1994 to 2014. Since 1991 he has been a board member of the SPD Rhein-Lahn, which he chaired from 2003 to 2014. In 1999 he became a member of the Rhein-Lahn district council and was elected parliamentary group chairman in 2009. Frank Puchtler was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament from 2001 until his appointment as district administrator in 2014 . In addition, from 2006 to 2011 he was the financial policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group and, until his departure, chairman of the budget and finance committee of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament. At the state level, he is Deputy Chairman of the Party Council of the SPD Rhineland-Palatinate and auditor of the SPD Rhineland-Palatinate.
Frank Puchtler is chairman of the shareholders' meeting of the economic development agency of the Rhein-Lahn-Kreis, the sports facility advisory board of the Rhein-Lahn-Kreis and the Lahntaltourismusverband (LTV) as well as the head of the Rhenish Waste Management Cooperation (REK) and the special purpose association for the Upper Middle Rhine Valley World Heritage.
In 2010 Frank Puchtler was elected to the regional synod of the Evangelical Church in Hesse and Nassau .
At club level, the enthusiastic hobby runner (district champion in cross and road running) is, in addition to his work as a firefighter, member of the board of the Oberneisen gymnastics club, the Aar-Lahn workers' welfare organization, chairman of the Friends of the BUGA Middle Rhine Valley and vice-president of the Middle Rhine gymnastics association (TVM).
