Georgi Dimitrov (born January 14, 1959 in Gledaczewo near Stara Sagora ) is a former Bulgarian football player.

Dimitrov began his career at home with Beroe Stara Sagora . In 1977 he moved to the capital club CSKA Sofia and played there 222 times in defense in nine years. During this time, he and the team won the Bulgarian Championship four times (1980, 1981, 1982, 1983) and the Cup three times (1981, 1983, 1985). Before the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, he signed a contract with AS Saint-Étienne . Dimitrov played in France for two years, during which he made 53 league games before returning to CSKA Sofia in 1988. For the third time he won the championship and cup double here . In 1989 he moved again for a year to local rivals Slavia Sofia , where he ended his career at the age of 31.

At the age of 19 Dimitrov made his debut in the Bulgarian national team in 1978 , for which he scored six goals in 77 games and with which he advanced to the round of 16 at the 1986 World Cup in Mexico. The year before, 1985, Dimitrov was voted Bulgaria's Footballer of the Year by his country's sports journalists .
