Nasko Petkow Sirakow ( Bulgarian Наско Петков Сираков ; born April 26, 1962 in Stara Sagora ) is a former Bulgarian national football player and coach. He belonged to the so-called "Golden Generation of Bulgarian Football", which came fourth in the 1994 World Cup in the USA. He is married to the athlete Ilijana Raewa , with whom he has two daughters.

Player career

In 1979 Sirakov was appointed from the youth in the first team of his club Levski Sofia . He only came on three missions and moved to Spartak Varna in 1980 , then to FK Chaskowo . In 1982 he returned to Levski, where he became a regular on the offensive. During this time he won three championship titles and two cup wins with his club. In 1988 he moved to Real Saragossa in the Spanish Primera División . After initial difficulties, he secured a permanent place in the team here too. After two years in Zaragoza and a season for Espanyol Barcelona , he returned to Levski in 1991. After winning the Cup in 1992, he was loaned to the French first division club RC Lens . After his return in early 1993, he won the championship twice and the Bulgarian Cup once. During the season 1994/95 Sirakow moved to Botew Plovdiv , in the winter of 1995/96 to Slavia Sofia . There he won the cup and championship for the last time in 1996. He ended his career in 1998.

Coaching career

Between 1996 and 1998 he was assistant coach of the Bulgarian national team, with which he also took part in the 1998 World Cup. In 1997 he was the coach of Slavia Sofia for a few months . From 1999 to April 2003 and from 2004 to April 2008 he was the sports director of Levski Sofia.
