Pak Kwang-ryong (born September 27, 1992 in Pyongyang ) is a North Korean football player .

Career

society

Pak played from July 2010 to February 2011 for the North Korean club Wolmido Sports Team . In spring 2011 he was signed by the Swiss second division club FC Wil , but could not play a championship game there because the club's foreign contingent had already been exhausted.

After a few trial training sessions and a convincing test match with the FCB U21s, the club management of FC Basel decided on June 25, 2011 to tie the young striker to the club with a five-year contract until June 30, 2016, to integrate him into the professional squad immediately and to put him behind established attackers Alexander Frei , Marco Streller and Jacques Zoua as another striker. He played in the watch cup and scored a goal against West Ham United .

He made his league debut for FC Basel on July 16, 2011 in a 1-1 draw in the opening championship game against BSC Young Boys at the Stade de Suisse in Bern , when he came on for Gilles Yapi Yapo in the 86th minute . He scored his first league goal for FC Basel on April 4, 2012 when he scored the 2-0 final score in the away game against Lausanne-Sport . At the end of the season Pak won the championship title with FC Basel and the double with the cup win .

In the 2012/13 season Pak could not prevail in the first team, so he played for the U-21 team. He scored six goals in twelve games. On January 11, 2013 Pak was loaned to the Challenge League club AC Bellinzona for six months .

After the loan ended, it was loaned to FC Vaduz for a little over a month in July 2013 . In January 2014 it was awarded again to the Liechtensteiners , this time for one and a half years. For the 2015/16 season, Pak joined FC Biel-Bienne . However, he only stayed with Biel for half a year; in January 2016 he moved to FC Lausanne-Sport , with whom he was promoted to the top Swiss league at the end of the season.

In August 2017 he moved to the Austrian Bundesliga club SKN St. Pölten , with whom he received a contract valid until June 2019, which was extended early in February 2019 to summer 2020. After 52 Bundesliga appearances, he left the SKN after the end of the contract after the 2019/20 season.

National team

Pak took part with the North Korean U-23 soccer team in the 2010 Asian Games in the People's Republic of China , reached the quarter-finals there and scored a goal. At the 2010 AFC Challenge Cup in Sri Lanka , he made five appearances in the senior national team. Pak, who made his debut in the senior national team against Turkmenistan on February 17, 2010 , scored one goal and was the winner of the tournament with his team.
