Arlind Ajeti (born September 25, 1993 in Basel , Switzerland ) is an Albanian football player who is currently under contract with Vejle Boldklub .

Club career

The player, who emerged from his own offspring, received his first professional contract with FC Basel on January 2, 2011, which was valid for two and a half years until June 30, 2013. He made his league debut on August 28, 2011 in a 2-1 win against FC Thun at St. Jakob-Park in Basel when he came on for Radoslav Kováč in the 69th minute . At the end of the season, Ajeti won the championship title with the team and the double with the cup win .

At the end of the 2012/13 season , Ajeti was again Swiss champion with FC Basel and was in the final of the Swiss Cup , which FC Basel lost in the penalty shootout . In the UEFA Europa League 2012/13 he made it to the semi-finals with FC Basel, where he was eliminated from the then Champions League winner FC Chelsea . This season, Ajeti made 39 appearances for FC Basel.

On October 6, 2013 he scored his first goal in the Super League for FC Basel with the winning goal to 2-1 over FC Lausanne-Sport . Ajeti finished the 2013/14 season as champion and was in the final of the Swiss Cup , which was lost after extra time. Basel's Champions League season ended after the group stage, but in the Europa League it advanced to the quarter-finals. Ajeti had a total of 44 missions under coach Murat Yakin and scored one goal.

After the 2013/14 season, in which Ajeti temporarily earned a regular place at FC Basel, he often only sat on the bench in 2014/15. Ajeti made his debut in the Swiss U-17 national team in the friendly against Sweden on March 4, 2010 in the Bergholz stadium in Wil. His first game for the Swiss U-19 national team followed on June 2, 2011 in a qualifier for the U-19 European Football Championship 2011 against England , which was lost 2-1.

From February 2013 Ajeti was also an official member of the Swiss U-21 squad . He made his debut on February 6 at the Estadio El Madrigal in Villarreal in a 1-0 loss to the Slovak selection .

Ajeti decided in 2014 to run for the Albanian Association. On November 14, 2014, he made his debut for the Albanian national team in a friendly against France .

In the UEFA EURO 2016 in France, he was in the Albanian contingent added. He was not included in the opening game, but he was in the starting line-up against France and Romania. After three games, the team was eliminated from the tournament.
