Hamburg '75 is the title of a 1995 compilation album that was dedicated to the so-called Hamburg scene and honored the musical work of the members of the scene.

background

With the opening of Uncle Pö's Carnegie Hall , a scene began to take off. The "Onkel Pö", founded as a folklore club, was an opportunity for artists of all musical styles to perform: jatz, skiffle , folklore and rock . Even comedy could be performed.

The Hamburg '75 compilation offers an overview of the artists and songs of that time. Many of the artists represented on the sampler became better known in the mid-1970s, such as Udo Lindenberg , Peter Petrel or Truck Stop .

The album title comes from the song of the same name (1974) interpreted by Lonzo Westphal and Gottfried Böttger , in which the two sing about their reunion in the old people's home and the associated memories of times past. The text for the song was written by the satirist Hans Scheibner .

The songs selected for the CD cover the period from 1973 to 1981 and also contain (at least in northern Germany ) well-known titles by the respective artists. Udo Lindenberg is represented at Andrea Doria with Allesklar, Truck Stop with her first hit Die Frau mit dem Gurt or Lonzo with Die Dinosaurier.

The sometimes close collaboration between the individual artists is also documented: The music for Dans op de Deel, which is sung by Carla Lodders, comes from Lonzo Westphal, who also wrote and played for himself and was also a member of Leinemann . Hans Scheibner sings under his own name and as a member of “Meyer's Dampfkapelle”; the text for “I like to stand on the assembly line” comes from him. The German text for Der Clou , presented by Gottfried Böttger under the pseudonym “Raggi Ragtime”, was written by Böttger together with Udo Lindenberg, who used the pseudonym “F. Cix ”and also invented the name“ Raggi Ragtime ”for Böttger.
