The entertainer

The Entertainer , published in 1902, is one of the most famous rags by Scott Joplin for solo piano. Its structure essentially follows the structure that is typical of classic, fully composed rags Introduction AA BB A CC DD and, since the original is a technically demanding work, it exists in numerous simplifying arrangements as well as in arrangements for different line-ups. In a version edited for a jazz band, it is used as a film score in Der Clou, alongside other Joplin rags .
