Enrico Schirinzi (born November 14, 1984 ) is an Italian football player who is under contract with FC Breitenrain .

Career

Enrico Schirinzi is an Italian citizen, but was born and raised in Switzerland and only played for Swiss football clubs. He gained his first footballing experience in his youth with the BSC Young Boys , most recently in 2005 in the U21s. Since he did not have the opportunity to move up to the first team in Bern , he moved to FC Wohlen in the Challenge League . For the Aargauer he played 78 games and scored eight goals, which he attracted attention. In 2008 he moved to FC Luzern in the Axpo Super League . In the first team he mainly made partial appearances and also played in three games for the U21s of Central Switzerland (he scored three goals in the juniors). After half a season Schirinzi went to FC Lugano, where he scored a goal in eleven games, but he could not assert himself here either. For the 2009/10 season he returned to FC Wohlen, where he scored five goals in 29 games as a regular. Since his contract was not extended, Schirinzi was subsequently without a club.

In November 2010 Murat Yakin brought the Italian to the promoted FC Thun due to a number of injuries. The left-footed player is considered to be a very versatile footballer who began his career as a midfielder (outside lane left and right), but can also be used as a full-back. In this position he was filled at FC Thun and has so far been quite successful. Together with Timm Klose , Stipe Matić and others, Schirinzi forms the defensive bulwark of the Bernese Oberland , whose back line is considered the second strongest defense in the league. On March 31, 2011 it was announced that the defensive specialist had sustained an ankle injury and had already been operated on. He will no longer be available to the association for several weeks.

Schirinzi's contract with FC Thun, which expired on June 30, 2017, was not extended. On July 10, 2017, he was signed by FC Vaduz and signed a contract until summer 2019.
