Giovanni-Guy Yann Sio (born March 31, 1989 in Saint-Sébastien-sur-Loire ) is a French - Ivorian football player .
Career
societies
Sio began his career in the junior division of FC Nantes . In summer 2007 he joined Real Sociedad's second team , which was promoted to the Segunda División in summer 2008 . In September 2009 he signed a contract with the Swiss club FC Sion . In the 2010/11 season he won the Swiss Cup with the club from the canton of Valais . In Sion, Sio was considered a great talent, having scored ten goals in 30 games in the 2010/11 championship season .
In the winter break of 2011/12, Sio moved to VfL Wolfsburg . He signed a three-and-a-half-year contract until June 30, 2015. On Saturday, January 21, 2012, he made his Bundesliga debut against 1. FC Köln (1-0) when Felix Magath won him in the 74th minute Ja-Cheol Koo came on .
After he could not earn a regular place in the VfL Wolfsburg team, Sio was awarded to FC Augsburg for the 2012/13 season until June 30, 2013 within the Bundesliga .

At the end of January 2013, Sio prematurely terminated his loan contract with FC Augsburg and switched to the French first division club FC Sochaux on loan until the end of the 2012/13 season . In August 2013, Sio moved to FC Basel for three million euros . He signed a four-year contract.
Since summer 2015 he has been playing for Stade Rennes in Ligue 1.
From the summer of 2017/18, instead of Sio under contract with HSC Montpellier and attracted attention in his first season with 10 goals in 33 league games. For the new season he was given to Al-Ittihad Kalba SC and in summer 2019 to the Turkish first division club Gençlerbirliği Ankara .
National team
Giovanni Sio played several games for the French national team until he decided for the Ivory Coast . He has been a member of the Ivorian national team since 2013 . On November 16, 2013 he and his team qualified for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil against Senegal .
