Bo Kristoffer Nordfeldt (born June 23, 1989 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish football player . The goalkeeper , who took part in the U-21 European Championship finals in 2009 and the World Cup finals in 2018 , has played in Sweden, the Netherlands, England and Turkey in his career so far.

Career

Career start in Sweden and national team debut

Nordfeldt started playing football at IF Brommapojkarna . During his youth for the club he was appointed by junior selection coach Jörgen Lennartsson in various Swedish junior national teams , where he often only acted as a substitute for Erik Dahlin .

In 2006, Nordfeldt was the third substitute goalkeeper behind Kristoffer Björklund and Johan Liljestrand in the men's squad. Without being used, he rose with the club in the Allsvenskan. After the club had missed relegation in its first season in the Swedish elite series, he moved up in the following second division season in 2008 to the club's goalkeeper from the Stockholm district of Bromma and played 29 of the 30 season games. Also in the two relegation games against Ljungskile SK for promotion, which were achieved as third in the table, he ran for the club and contributed to the fact that the team after a 1-1 away and a 0-0 home draw due to the Away goals rule returned to the first division. At the same time, he played his way into the Swedish U-21 national team , for which he made his debut in the fall of that year.

In March 2009 Nordfeldt extended his contract with IF Brommapojkarna by three years. The 19-year-old was also able to maintain his regular place in the first division and played in all twelve games until the summer break. At the end of May, the supervisors of the Swedish U-21 team Tommy Söderberg and Jörgen Lennartsson appointed him as the third goalkeeper behind Johan Dahlin and Pär Hansson for the U-21 European Championship finals in their own country in the summer. After he had not played in a tournament, he was able to maintain his regular place in the goal of BP in the league and only missed a few games due to injury. In December of that year, the new national coach Erik Hamrén paid tribute to his achievements and nominated him alongside his teammate Philip Haglund for the January tour of the Swedish national team . Ultimately, however, it was not used. During the 2010 season , Nordfeldt guarded the goal of the Stockholm Club as a regular, but was relegated to the second division with the team. Nevertheless, Hamrén nominated him again for the spring tour of the national team after Johan Dahlin's loss due to injury - also a regular in the U-21 selection. In the 1-1 draw against a South African national team on January 22, 2011, he made his debut in the national team when he replaced Viktor Noring in the second half .

Change abroad

After Nordfeldt's contract with IF Brommapojkarna expired at the end of 2011, he moved to the Dutch club SC Heerenveen in spring 2012 . Here he was initially a substitute behind Brian Vandenbussche , whom he inherited after being sent off on the sixth last matchday of the 2011/12 season in the 5-0 defeat against Ajax Amsterdam and subsequently established himself as the goalkeeper. While he played with the club regularly for participation in the European Cup in the following years , he established himself in the circle of the Swedish national team. There he was in the shadow of Andreas Isaksson , but was occasionally used in friendly matches.

In June 2015, Nordfeldt moved to the Welsh club Swansea City . There he was supposed to compete with Łukasz Fabiański , who had been committed last year, after a mixed debut season for the Welsh team, but could not displace him from the regular place between the posts. Only in the cup competitions he was regularly in the gate, but the club was eliminated in the early stages of the competitions. Due to the lack of match practice, however, he slipped out of the national team and thus missed participation in the 2016 European Championship finals . After the tournament, after Isaksson's national team farewell, the new national coach Janne Andersson called him back to the national team, but where he had to position himself behind Robin Olsen and in particular had a duel with Karl-Johan Johnsson for the role of the first substitute. In the 2017/18 Premier League season he was only a substitute for his club and remained without a game, while he had played all seven games in the 2017/18 FA Cup until he was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Tottenham Hotspur . Nevertheless, he was part of the 23-player squad for the World Cup finals in Russia in the summer of 2018 .

He has been under contract with Gençlerbirliği Ankara in Turkey since the second half of the 2019/2020 season .
