Kristoffer Björklund (born April 19, 1978 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish football player . The goalkeeper has played his career so far exclusively in Sweden, where he played for a long time in Allsvenskan and Superettan .

Career

Björklund joined the youth of Hammarby IF at the age of six , but switched to city rivals IF Brommapojkarna at the age of 13 . After his first team debut in 1997, the young goalkeeper was used irregularly in the following three years at the lower-class playing club and in 2000 he moved on to the second division club FC Café Opera . There he became a regular goalkeeper and placed himself with the team alongside Daniel Arnefjord , Niklas Sandberg and Kaj Eskelinen in the front midfield of the table.

Before the start of the second division season 2003 Björklund returned to IF Brommapojkarna, which had meanwhile been promoted to the second division. Under coach Benny Persson , as well as under his successors Anders Grönhagen and Claes Eriksson, he was the goalkeeper of the Stockholm club. After the team had established itself in the middle of the table, he led them in the second division season 2003 , in which he was in the starting lineup in all 30 games of the season, together with Olof Guterstam , Thomas Lagerlöf , Joakim Runnemo and Jon Persson for the first promotion to the Allsvenskan in the club's history. Here, too, he was a regular, the first division season 2007 was disappointing for the team, as the only relegation place was occupied.

Björklund remained top notch, however, as he joined his youth club Hammarby IF. There he signed a two-year contract in December 2007. With the former Swedish national goalkeeper Rami Shaaban , he fought a duel for the regular place between the posts and was able to prevail over long distances. At the end of the 2009 season he was relegated with the club from the first division, so his contract was not extended.

At the end of March 2010, the second division Assyriska Föreningen signed Björklund, who had not been under contract to date, in order to compete with Magnus Bahne , who was also newly signed . Coach Rikard Norling relied on the Finnish goalkeeper, so Björklund stayed out of the league until the summer. In July, he therefore left the club and joined the league rivals Väsby United , who were in the relegation battle . By the end of the season he was in ten games between the posts, but had to accept relegation to the third division with the team as bottom of the table. He then announced that he wanted to leave the club.
