Yoric Ravet (born September 12, 1989 in Échirolles ) is a French football player who has been under contract with SC Freiburg since August 2017 and is moving to Grenoble Foot for the 2020/21 season.

Career

Yoric Ravet played during his youth with Grenoble Foot , which is based near his home town of Échirolles. In the 2008/09 season he was appointed to the professional squad and made his debut on matchday 1 against FC Sochaux when he was substituted on for Alaixys Romao in the 82nd minute . At the end of the season he was eleven times in the championship and once each in the Coupe de France and in the Coupe de la Ligue in the team. He finished the season with the club in 13th place. After one and a half more seasons for Grenoble Foot, Ravet moved in January 2011 to league rivals AS Saint-Étienne , where he came on three appearances for the first team.

For the 2012/13 season he was loaned to SCO Angers before moving to Switzerland for FC Lausanne-Sport . After one season, he signed a three-year contract with Grasshopper Club Zurich until the summer of 2017. After a year and a half, the BSC Young Boys announced the commitment of Ravet. In return, Haris Tabaković was given to the Grasshopper Club Zurich in an exchange transaction . Ravet signed a contract for three and a half years until the summer of 2019. At the end of August 2017, Ravet moved to SC Freiburg in the German Bundesliga after playing a few games for the Young Boys after the summer break. There he made his debut on September 9, 2017 (3rd matchday) in a 0-0 draw against Borussia Dortmund , but was sent off the field in the 29th minute of the game after a foul on Marcel Schmelzer . This dismissal was made after a correction by the video evidence newly introduced in the Bundesliga this season, after referee Benjamin Cortus Ravet had previously only warned with the yellow card. Ravet was the first player to be sent off because of video evidence.

After he had only made 17 competitive appearances in a year and a half by February 2019 and had not made a single start in the 2018/19 season , he was loaned out to his ex-club Grasshoppers Zurich until the end of the season. The midfielder played 14 league games at his old place of work, and at the end of the season the team was relegated to the Challenge League . Since his return to Breisgau, the Frenchman has not been considered and has only been in the matchday squad three times without a match.

For the 2020/21 season , Ravet will return to his training club Grenoble Foot, where he received a contract valid until June 2023.
