Goran Karanović (born October 13, 1987 in Belgrade , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Swiss football player who currently plays for SCO Angers in the French Ligue 1 .

Career

Karanović, who holds Serbian and Swiss citizenship, played for FC Wohlen in his youth . Under contract with FC Luzern since 2008 , he made his international debut the year before in the Swiss U20 national team against Germany. After a three-year stint at Servette FC , the striker moved to FC St. Gallen in 2013 .

Karanović played with St. Gallen in the play-offs for the UEFA Europa League , where he played a major role in qualifying for the group stage with two goals away against Spartak Moscow , where he scored more goals against FC Valencia and FK Kuban Krasnodar . In the Super League Goran Karanović scored a total of 9 goals in the 2013/14 season, making him the most successful goalscorer of the FCSG. Twice he managed a flawless hat - trick , against FC Aarau he even managed it within 11 minutes.
