Marco Schönbächler (born January 11, 1990 in Urdorf ) is a Swiss football player .

Career

The striker comes from the youth department of FC Zurich . Since the start of the second half of the 2006/07 season, he has made regular short appearances in the Super League . He also played for the Swiss U17 national team. In March 2007 he extended his contract with FC Zurich until June 30, 2010.

On May 9, 2007, Schönbächler scored his first Superleague goal for FC Zurich in the championship game against FC Aarau .

On May 24, 2007, the then 17-year-old footballer, who was still in the storm, celebrated his first championship title with FC Zurich. After a 2-0 victory over city rivals Grasshopper Club Zurich , his team secured the 11th championship title. In 2014 he received his first line-up for the Swiss national football team and made two appearances in November.
