Remo Staubli (born October 7, 1988 in New York , United States ) is a former Swiss football player . He is also a US citizen.

Career

Staubli played for the FC Zurich youth team from 2002 . From the start of the second half of the 2006/07 season, he made regular appearances in the Super League . During this time he scored two goals for FC Zurich. In the 2009/10 season he played on loan for FC Schaffhausen in the Challenge League , one season later the midfielder was loaned to FC Lugano . For the 2011/12 season he was loaned to the Challenge League again, this time to FC Aarau . At the end of this loan, Aarau decided to sign Staubli for three years. After various injuries, some of which had haunted him since he was a junior, he announced the end of his young career in February 2014. After playing in the amateur field at FC Meilen from 2014 to 2016 , he switched to FC Rapperswil-Jona in February 2016 , with whom he was promoted to the Challenge League at the end of the 2016/17 season .
