Vasilije Janjičić (born November 2, 1998 in Zurich ) is a Swiss football player . He has been under contract with FC Zurich since the end of August 2019 , where he played in his youth.

Career

In the club

Beginnings in Zurich

Janjičić played for FC Zurich from the age of five . In May 2014, at the age of 15, he was used for the first time in the U21 in the third-class Promotion League . In just under two years he made 27 promotional league appearances in which he scored two goals. For the season 2016/17 Janjičić moved up into the first team. On matchday one he made his debut in a 2-0 win against FC Winterthur in the second-rate Challenge League when he was substituted on for Sangoné Sarr in the 86th minute .

Hamburger SV

On August 31, 2016, shortly before the end of the transfer period, Janjičić moved to the second team of Hamburger SV , with whom he received a four-year contract dated June 30, 2020. Until the winter break, he played 12 times in the fourth-class Regionalliga Nord and scored 2 goals. In the winter preparation 2017 he moved up to the Bundesliga squad of coach Markus Gisdol . By the end of the season he made 4 appearances (2 times from the start) in the Bundesliga . In addition, Janjičić played 7 times in the second team.

In the 2017/18 season , Janjičić made 7 Bundesliga appearances (3 times from the start) under head coach Markus Gisol and his successors Bernd Hollerbach and Christian Titz , who had previously coached the second team. He also played 10 times in the Regionalliga Nord. With the professional team he was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga . In the 2018/19 season he was used more often under Christian Titz and especially under his successor Hannes Wolf , but was unable to prevail in the sixth position, especially against Orel Mangala . He came to 22 second division appearances, of which he was in the starting line-up in 14. In addition, he played 5 times (2 times from the start) in the DFB Cup . At the end of the season, HSV missed a direct return to the Bundesliga and finished in 4th place.

Return to Zurich

During the summer preparing 2,019 Janjičić, who had missed a training camp injury was the new head coach Dieter Hecking dropped from the first team and the club looking exempted . At the end of August he returned to FC Zurich , where he received a contract that ran until June 30, 2022.

In the national team

Janjičić played eight times (six goals) in the U-15- , seven times (two goals) in the U-16- , three times in the U-17- (no goal) and once (no goal) in the U- 18 selection of Switzerland. From August 2016 to June 2017 he played four times (no goal) in the U-19 team . From August 2017 to March 2018 Janjičić was active in the U-20 team , for which he scored one goal in eight appearances. He has been active in the U-21 selection since September 2018 .

Janjičić completed his second year training as a retail salesman in the FC Zurich fan shop .

On February 22, 2018, as a car driver at excessive speed, drunk and without a driver's license, he caused a traffic accident with a pile-up on the A 7 in Hamburg's Elbe tunnel . When recording the personal details, Janjičić lied to the police officers and initially gave the details of his twin brother.
