Bećir Omeragić (born January 20, 2002 in Geneva ) is a Swiss football player of Bosnian descent who is under contract with the first division club FC Zurich . The central defender has been a Swiss U19 international since October 2019 .
Career

In Geneva born Bećir Omeragic played in the youth of Étoile Carouge and Servette FC before him the FC Zurich undertook in June 2018th Despite his young age, Omeragić had been listed in the Zurich squad since his arrival , but had to wait a long time for his competitive debut for the first team due to injuries and international secondments in his first season 2018/19 and only played 12 league games in the parallel until May 2019 FC Zurich U21 team. National team
Bećir Omeragić is of Bosnian descent due to his parents , but only has Swiss citizenship. The Bosnian Football Association still wanted to recruit him for the senior national team in late autumn 2019 , but Omeragić opted for Switzerland.
Before that, Omeragić played for Switzerland in U15 , U16 and U17 selections. With the U17 he took part in the U17 European Championship in England in May 2018 , where he was in the starting line-up in all three group games of the Nati .
