The 23 Swiss football championship was 1919 / 1920 instead.
With Servette Geneva, the Yong Boys Bern and the Grasshoppers, three of the most successful Swiss teams competed against each other in the final. The Grasshopper Club Zurich had disappeared since its last championship title 15 years ago (1905) and did not even take part in the championship for many years.
The Young Boys Bern managed to secure the championship title after a win over Servette Geneva and a draw against the Grasshoppers. They won the title as the first team for the fifth time and were thus allowed to call themselves record champions.
The top division, Serie A , was divided into three regional groups. A win brought 2 points, a draw 1 point. The winners of the three groups competed against each other in finals for the championship.
