Endoğan Adili (born August 3, 1994 in Brugg ) is a Swiss football player on the position of an attacking midfielder and striker .

From 2002 to 2010 he played in the junior team at Grasshopper Club Zurich , but made his debut for the professional team with play in the Axpo Super League , the top division in the country, in the 2009/10 season . On May 13, 2010, at the age of 15 years and 286 days, he made his first appearance in the Axpo Super League. In the same game, he scored his first professional football goal just ten minutes after being substituted on, making him the youngest ever goal scorer in the history of the top Swiss football league and post-war European history.

As the youngest goalscorer in post-war history, he improved the record set almost exactly a month earlier by Austrian Michael Gregoritsch , who scored his first goal in professional football at the age of 15 years and 361 days and also on his professional debut.

Club career

Started his career at FC Altstetten and soon switched to the traditional club

Adili began his active career as a football player in the youth division of FC Altstetten in Zurich's Altstetten district . From there he joined the Grasshopper Club Zurich in August 2002 as an eight-year-old , where he has since played in various youth leagues. When he made his professional debut for the GC, Adili was still a member of the club's U-16 youth team and only joined the club's U-18 team during the summer break before the 2010/11 season .

Professional debut with records

On May 13, 2010, the 15-year-old and 286-day-old Adili made his professional debut in the away game against FC Aarau , after the club had received permission from the Swiss Football League the day before to use the young attacking midfield player in the adult area. In the 4-1 victory, which sealed the first relegation of FC Aarau after 19 years of membership in the highest Swiss league, the secondary school student was substituted on for Gonzalo Zárate in the 76th minute of the game . Ten minutes later he scored after a pass by Steven Zuber, who was three years older than him, to make it 4-1. With his goal in the top Swiss football league, he undercut the record set by Johan Vonlanthen on February 24, 2002 , who on that day at 16 years and 23 days became the youngest player in history and only six minutes later the youngest NLA scorer was. With his goal, Adili is also the youngest European professional football goalscorer in the post-war period. Only the Italian Amedeo Amadei , who scored his first goal for AS Roma in the 1936/37 season , was two days younger than Adili at 15 years and 284 days.

Three days after his first goal he came due to his good performance in the last round of the championship for another assignment and was substituted on for Martin Steuble in the 61st minute of the game . In the final table of the Axpo Super League he and the team came third behind champions FC Basel and runner-up BSC Young Boys . He was the youngest player in the young professional team of the Grasshopper Club Zurich. In December 2011, Adili suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament and then fought to join the first team. In December 2012 it was announced that he would be joining league rivals FC Basel on April 1, 2013.

Basel

Adili signed a contract with FC Basel in January 2013 for three and a half years until June 30, 2016. The contract also contained an option for a further year. He made his debut for FC Basel on June 1, 2013 at St. Jakob-Park in a 1-0 home win against FC St. Gallen .

Galatasaray Istanbul

He was under contract with Galatasaray Istanbul from July 2014 to July 2018 . For the 2015/16 season, Adili was loaned to FC Wil . On July 13, 2018, his contract with Galatasaray was terminated.

National team career

The 1.70 m tall and 61 kg heavy offensive player gained his first international experience in 2009 with the Swiss U-16 national team, to which he belonged until 2010 and during this time scored three goals in seven international appearances. He scored the first goal for the team on August 16, 2009 when he played in a 4-country tournament against the U-16 youngsters from Austria, Germany and host Liechtenstein and scored two goals against the Liechtenstein team. He scored his third goal on September 8, 2009 in a 6-0 victory over the Estonian U-16 national team. He played his last game for the U-16s on April 1, 2010, when he played a 60-minute game against the young Bulgarians in a 3-country tournament against the U-16s of Bulgaria and host Montenegro. After victories against both youth national teams, Yves Débonnaire's team also won the tournament. In the Swiss U-16 selection, he also held the position of team captain .

Since July 1, 2010, Adili has also been an official member of the Swiss U-17 team, for which he was already called up and to date (as of August 2, 2010) has played in a total of three international matches, but goalless stayed. He played all three games during the U-17 European Championship in Liechtenstein in 2010 , where he played in three different positions in all of his team's games. With the team he was eliminated as the worst team of the entire tournament with a total goal ratio of 1:10 in the preliminary round in Group A from the current competition.
