Gonzalo Eulogio Zárate (born August 6, 1984 in Rosario , Argentina ) is an Argentine- Swiss football player .
Career
Gonzalo Zárate started playing football in the youth teams of CA Lanús and CA Tiro Federal . Before moving to Switzerland, Zárate played in the Primera B Nacional , the second Argentine league, for the PCC San José. His first club in Switzerland was SC Kriens , for whom he scored five goals in five games. After only two months, it was loaned to the Grasshopper Club Zurich , which finally signed it after the end of the loan contract. In the 2009/10 season he was the team's top goalscorer with 14 goals and finished third in the Axpo Super League with the Zurich team . On May 18, 2010 his move to the Austrian champions FC Red Bull Salzburg was announced. After his second season, where he won the Austrian championship and the cup competition with Salzburg , he returned to Switzerland in August 2012 and signed a contract with Young Boys Bern until the summer of 2014 . After another season with the Bernese, his expiring contract was no longer renewed, so he moved to cantonal rivals FC Thun in the summer of 2015 . After only one season in which he could not score in 27 games, FC Vaduz announced his commitment. He signed a two-year contract until the summer of 2018.
