The Club Atlético Tiro Federal Argentino is a football club from Rosario in the province of Santa Fe , Argentina .
The club was founded on March 29, 1905. Originally, the footballers shared a field with the shooting club, hence the name ( Tiro = "shot") on a railway site. The new club was one of the founding members of the League of Rosario in 1907, which it won in 1920, 1925 and 1926. In 1944 the club became more professional and Tiro Federal joined the Argentine Football Association AFA . Over the next few decades, Tiro Federal played mainly in the second or third division and even had to relegate back to the local division after financial difficulties.
At the end of the 1990s, businessman Carlos Dávola took over the management of the club. The rise of Tiro Federal began under his leadership. In the 1998/99 season you achieved promotion to the Torneo Argentino A with second place in the Torneo Argentino B (fourth highest division) .
After 1st place in the Clausura in 2003 , they rose to the second highest league, the Nacional B , and in 2004, when they won the Apertura, they were promoted to the top division, the Primera División . In 2006, however, the club rose again from the second division. The club has been playing in the fourth-class Torneo Federal B since 2016 .
Stadion
The club has its own stadium in the Ludueña district of Rosario, called Fortín de Ludueña (Fortress of Ludueña) , but it does not meet the requirements for top division matches. Tiro Federal played its home games of the Primera División in the nearby town of Arroyo Seco in the stadium of Club Real Arroyo Seco. Newell's Old Boys' stadium is used for major games .
