FH Hafnarfjörður

The Kaplakriki is the multi-purpose facility for sporting events. It is located in Hafnarfjörður , the third largest city in Iceland .

The main user of the stadium is the football club FH Hafnarfjörður , which has played its home games in Kaplakriki since October 15, 1929. The stadium can hold up to 3,600 spectators, of which around 2,200 are seated. The average attendance is around 1,500 visitors. Capacity expansion to 7,000 seats, roofing and full seating is planned for the coming years. This would make it the largest stadium in Iceland , with the exception of Laugardalsvöllur . In addition to soccer, athletics is also practiced on the stadium.

Next to the stadium there is an indoor arena on the Kaplakriki site. This was modernized between 2006 and 2008. The regular events there include handball and fencing .
