Gerald Piesinger (born August 16, 1959 in Steyr ) is a former Austrian football player .
Career
The native of Steyr began his career at SV Esternberg before he was discovered by LASK Linz and played for the club for nine years from 1980 to 1989. Piesinger was a midfielder and also played in LASK Linz's European Cup victory on October 23, 1985 against Inter Milan (1-0). In 1989 Gerald Piesinger moved to SK Vorwärts Steyr , where he ended his Bundesliga career in 1991. He played a total of 218 Bundesliga and two European Cup games as well as seven games for the Austrian national soccer team .
