Jean-Guy Wallemme (born August 10, 1967 in Maubeuge ) is a former French football player and today's coach . He has coached the Congolese national team since 2011 and AJ Auxerre since 2012 (in two roles).

Career as a player

In his playing career, Wallemme was for RC Lens (1986 to 1998 and 2001/02), in between at Coventry City , FC Sochaux and AS Saint-Étienne . With Lens he also won the French championship title ; In 1995 he was also awarded the Étoile d'Or as the season's best field player in the French first division .

Career as a coach

In his last years as a player, Wallemme was able to get a taste of the coaching business. At AS Saint-Étienne he was a player-coach. Further positions as coach: RC Paris , FC Rouen , KSK Ronse , US Roye, Paris FC , RC Lens (for this 2011 also Scout) and since 2011 the national team of the Congo . Wallemme has been a trainer at AJ Auxerre since 2012 . With this he was relegated from Ligue 1 in the same year . Nevertheless, he remained loyal to the club.
