Gerold Krause Junk

Gerold Krause-Junk (* 1936 ) is a German economist and emeritus professor of finance at the University of Hamburg .

Life

Gerold Krause-Junk received his doctorate in 1965 from the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the Free University of Berlin . The subject of his dissertation was government spending, income levels and economic structure. Circular theoretical considerations on the effects of public spending . From 1965 to 1966 Krause-Junk studied abroad as a guest of the faculty at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States of America (USA).

In 1969 he achieved his habilitation at the University of Hamburg . The subject of his habilitation thesis was The Allocation Optimum and the Principle of Equivalence of Taxation . From 1969 to 1983 Gerold Krause-Junk was Professor of Public Finance at the Free University of Berlin . From 1983 to 2002 he was Professor of Public Finance at the University of Hamburg. Krause-Junk has retired since 2002.

Gerold Krause-Junk is currently (as of January 2015) a member of the Scientific Advisory Board at the Federal Ministry of Finance , of which he was Chairman from 1995 to 1998. In the 2013 summer semester, Krause-Junk is the holder of the 14th Johannes Gutenberg Endowed Professorship at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz .

Research priorities

His research interests and areas were welfare theory , tax policy and international financial order.
