Pascal Cygan (born April 29, 1974 in Lens ) is a former French football player . The left-footed is 1.93 meters tall and weighs 87 kilograms.
Career
Cygan's professional career began in 1995 at the age of 21 at Lille OSC . There he played from 1995 to 2002 and was personally awarded the Étoile d'Or in 2001 before Arsenal FC signed the central defender . He was English champion with Arsenal in 2004 and reached the Champions League final in 2006 . However, Arsenal lost 2-1 to FC Barcelona without Cygan being used. After four years in the Premier League , the Frenchman moved to Villarreal in Spain in 2006 for a transfer fee of three million euros. In the summer of 2009 he moved to the Segunda Division for Cartagena FC. There he ended his playing career two years later.
Cygan then obtained his coaching diploma in Spain . Since 2013 he has been working as a sports director at the northern French fifth division club ES Wasquehal, for whom he had already played as a young man.
