Benoît Costil (born July 3, 1987 in Caen ) is a French football goalkeeper who is under contract with Stade Rennes .

Career

Goalkeeper Costil started playing football as a youth at SM Caen . In 2004 he got a professional contract with SM Caen. In 2008 he was loaned to OC Vannes for one season before he officially moved to CS Sedan after 27 competitive games in the 2009/10 season. After only two years at the club, Costil moved to Stade Rennes in 2011 .

National team

Costil has played for various French junior national teams since 2003. Initially part of the U-17 national team , he played for the U21 team from 2008 to 2009 and was twice in goal for them. On October 11, 2014 he was appointed as a substitute goalkeeper for the first time in the squad of the senior national team and then sat regularly on the bench, but without ever getting a job. He was one of two players who entered France's squad for the 2016 European home championship without a national game . He was not used in the tournament.
