Vannes Olympique Club (or in Breton Gwened Olimpek Klub ) is a French football club from Vannes , the capital of the French department of Morbihan in Brittany .
It was only formed in 1998 through the merger of two clubs, Véloce Vannes and FC Vannes (founded in 1892), and has rapidly advanced to the second-highest French division. The club colors are black and white; the league team plays in the Stade de la Rabine , which has a capacity of 9,500 seats.
The club's president is Michel Jestin; the first team has been coached by Thierry Froger since December 2012 . (As of September 2013)
League affiliation
In 2008 he was promoted to Ligue 2 for the first time and thus had to assume professional status, also for the first time. In the meantime (2014) Vannes only competes in one regional amateur league.
