Stéphane Auvray (born September 4, 1981 in Les Abymes , Guadeloupe ) is a French football player. He currently plays for Sporting Kansas City in Major League Soccer. The midfielder is also the captain of Guadeloupe's football team .

Career

society

Auvray comes from the Caribbean island of Grande-Terre , which belongs to the French overseas department of Guadeloupe. In European France he played in the youth teams of SM Caen . From 1999 to 2001 he played for the second team in the Championnat de France Amateur .

In 2002 he moved to the amateur club GSI Pontivy. He stayed there for two years before moving to OC Vannes in 2004 . With the team he played in the National Championships and in 2008 he made it to Ligue 2 .

In 2009 he played for six months at Olympique Nîmes . He left the club in December 2009 for personal reasons.

Since January 2010 he has played for Sporting Kansas City in Major League Soccer.

Selection team

He made his debut for Guadeloupe in 2007. In the same year he was part of the team that reached the semifinals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup . At the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2009 he was the team captain.
