Edson André Sitoe (born September 8, 1988 in Maputo ) is a Mozambican professional footballer who plays for the French club Stade Rennes as a central defender .
Career
society
Mexer started his career with Desportivo Maputo in his hometown. In January 2010 he moved to Portugal to Sporting Lisbon for 173,000 euros , where he signed a contract for two and a half years with the option of a further three years. He was then loaned out directly to SC Olhanense , where he made his debut on September 11, 2010 in a game against Sporting Lisbon. After two years in Olhanense, he was signed by Nacional Funchal , where he played an important role.
On June 19, 2014, after a failed transfer to the French club in January, Mexer signed with Stade Rennes. In his second appearance in Ligue 1 on August 16, he contributed two goals to a 6-2 home win against FC Évian Thonon Gaillard .
On April 27, 2019, Mexer played for the full 120 minutes and scored the 2-2 equalizer against Paris Saint-Germain in the final of the Coupe de France . Rennes later won the game on penalties and managed to win the competition for the third time in its 118-year history.
For the 2019/20 season, Mexer is moving to Girondins Bordeaux .
National team
Mexer made his debut for Mozambique in 2007 and represented his country at the 2010 Africa Cup . He has scored two international goals so far.
