Laurent Koscielny (born September 10, 1985 in Tulle ) is a French football player . He is under contract with the French first division club Girondins Bordeaux .
Career
societies
Koscielny began his professional career in 2004 as a defender at the first division relegated EA Guingamp . In 2007/08 he moved to the third division , which was relegated to the third division, FC Tours , with whom he immediately rose again after a season and was elected to the top eleven of the second division by the UNPF in May 2009.
For the 2009/10 season he signed the first division club FC Lorient , where he signed a four-year contract on June 16, 2009. Koscielny made his first division debut on August 9, 2009 (1st matchday) in a 2-1 win in the away game against OSC Lille ; his first of three league goals was the goal of the 2-2 final score in the 90th minute in the home game against HSC Montpellier on August 15, 2009 (2nd matchday).
After 35 of 38 league games, Koscielny moved to Arsenal for £ 9.7 million . He played his first competitive game for Arsenal on August 15, 2010 (1st matchday) in a 1-1 away game against Liverpool . His debut ended in the fifth minute of stoppage time with his suspension with a yellow-red card . He has been a regular since then and regularly plays with Arsenal in the Champions League and Europa League . He won the FA Cup and the Supercup with the team in 2014, 2015 and 2017 . In the 2018/19 Europa League season , Koscielny reached the final with Arsenal, which was lost 4-1 to city rivals Chelsea .
On August 6, 2019 it was announced that Koscielny would move to Ligue 1 to Girondins Bordeaux after 9 years at Arsenal FC.
National team
Koscielny would have been eligible to play for Poland because of his Polish ancestors ; he has only French citizenship.
In February 2011 it to the French national team coach called Laurent Blanc for the first time in the senior team . Koscielny was not used in the international test match against Brazil . He made his debut on November 11, 2011 in a 1-0 home win against the USA in the opening eleven.
At the European Championships in 2012 in Poland and Ukraine , Koscielny was part of the French squad and came in the quarterfinals against the then defending champion Spain for his only tournament appearance; with a 2-0 defeat against the eventual title holder, the French were eliminated from the competition. Coach Didier Deschamps , who followed Blanc after the tournament, nominated Koscielny to the squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil . He was used in four games and was eliminated with the national team in the quarter-finals against Germany . The 2016 European Football Championship in France was his third major tournament. As a regular player in central defense, he was included in the French squad and was on the starting line-up in all seven games, including the final. The final was lost to Portugal 1-0 after extra time.
On October 15, 2018, he resigned from the national team.
