The Limoges Football Club 87 is a French football club from Limoges , the capital of the French Department Haute-Vienne , which bears the same number 87th

The club was founded in 1947 under the name Limoges FC as the product of a merger between Red Star Athlétique de Limoges (founded in 1917) and the former university sports club Union Sportive Athlétique de Limoges (founded 1929). The club kept this name until 1987, when it had to file for bankruptcy and was re-established under its current name.

The club colors are red and white.
