Samuel Kalu (born August 26, 1997 in Aba , Abia ) is a Nigerian football player who plays as a winger for the French club Girondins Bordeaux .

Club career

On December 9, 2015 Kalu signed a two-year contract with the Slovak first division club AS Trenčín . On February 27, 2016 he made his debut for Trenčín against Slovan Bratislava .

On January 4, 2017, he moved to the Belgian club KAA Gent . The transfer fee was one million euros .

For a transfer fee of 10 million euros, he moved to Girondins Bordeaux in France on August 6, 2018 and signed a five-year contract.

National team

He made his debut for Nigeria on September 8, 2018 in a 3-0 away win in Seychelles. He scored his first goal for the Nigerian national team on October 13, 2018. Kalu achieved the final score in a 4-0 win against Libya .

Personal

In early 2019, Kalu's mother was kidnapped in Nigeria and released six days later after paying a ransom.
