Otávio , full name Otávio Henrique Passos Santos (born May 4, 1994 in Maceió ) is a Brazilian soccer player . The right foot is mainly used defensively in the central midfield.

Career

Otávio started his career in the youth team of the Clube de Regatas Brasil , where he first played futsal before switching to football. In 2009, when he was fourteen, he received the offer to switch to Atletico Paranaense , which he accepted. He already distinguished himself in the youth teams. He was able to win the Yokohama Cup of FC Ostrach in 2012 and 2013 with the club and in 2012 reached the semi-finals of the Copa São Paulo de Futebol junior competition. In the club he made the jump to the professional squad and played his first professional game on April 20, 2014.

On August 7, 2017 it was announced that the Girondins Bordeaux from France want to sign Otávio and the player is already on the way to a medical examination. The signing by Bordeaux was announced on August 8th. The contract had a term of four years. Otávio played his first game in Ligue 1 in the 2017/18 season . On August 26th, the fourth day of the season, in the home game against ES Troyes AC , he was in the starting line-up. Otávio made his international club debut in the second qualifying round of the 2018/19 UEFA Europa League on August 2, 2018. In the away game against FK Ventspils , he came on in the 89th minute for Aurélien Tchouaméni . In the second leg came in the 83rd minute for Zaydou Youssouf . In the third round of the competition Otávio was in the away game against FK Mariupol for the first time in the starting line-up. The first goal for Bordeaux was scored on matchday five of the 2019/20 championship . In the home game against Olympique Nîmes on December 3, 2019, he scored 5-0 (77th minute) and 6-0 (87th minute) in a 6-0 win.

For the U-23 national team of Brazil, Otávio played a friendly against France on September 8, 2015.
