Company history

EQOS Energie can look back on almost a hundred years of company history. Today's company goes back to the ENERGIE Gesellschaft für electrical und industrial enterprises mbH, founded in 1920 by Wilhelm Blättchen in Stuttgart . Even then, the company's business fields were electrical and industrial companies.

In 1978 the subsidiary ENERGIE Lignes Hautes Tension was founded in Luxembourg. In 1993 the first working group (ARGE) was established with the Austrian ALPINE Bau GmbH . As part of this consortium, a 380 kV overhead line for the Austrian Verbundgesellschaft and the first steel towers for cellular networks were built. The collaboration ultimately resulted in the establishment of the ALPINE-ENERGIE Gesellschaft für electrical und industrial enterprises GmbH based in Linz , Austria , in 1996. In 1998, the ENERGIE Gesellschaft für Leitbau und Kommunikationstechnik AG , based in Bern, was expanded on Switzerland . The project at St. Valentin main station in Lower Austria and the associated renovation work on the overhead lines in 1999 marked ALPINE-ENERGIE's entry into the rail industry. In 2002 the ALPINE Group took over the shares of the Blättchen family. The growth was further driven by the establishment of ALPINE-ENERGIE Holding AG and ALPINE-ENERGIE Deutschland GmbH .

In 2006 the Spanish construction group Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas (FCC) took over the majority in the ALPINE group . With the takeover of SAG Kommunikationstechnik , ALPINE-ENERGIE expanded its business in Switzerland and Austria in the same year. In addition, ALPINE-ENERGIE companies were founded in Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary between 2009 and 2011.

After being part of the ALPINE Group for many years, ALPINE-ENERGIE was spun off in 2013 and became a direct subsidiary of FCC. The company was subsequently sold to the Triton Fund . As part of the takeover, the company was renamed EQOS Energie . From 2015, a realignment of the business model was initiated “to meet the growing demands of the markets as one of the leading providers in the industry” . This included, among other things, the focus of business activities on the most important core markets, with the Triton Fund as owner, the company has a financially strong investor at its side who specializes in the positive development and promotion of companies based in Europe.

The company offers its customers complete solutions for projects - from consulting, planning and construction to servicing, maintenance and optimization.
