List of number one hits in Belgium

The number one hits in the music industry in Belgium are broadcast weekly by Ultratop . The sales figures of the singles are used as a benchmark. In Belgium, the Ultratop charts are not compiled in a single list for the whole of the country, but separately according to Dutch- speaking ( Flanders ) and French-speaking ( Wallonia ) areas. From January 1, 1955 to March 25, 1995 , the charts in the BRT Top 30 were determined in a single nationwide list. First # 1 was Norman Greenbaum , Spirit in the Sky and the last # 1 was Mark 'Oh with Tears Don't Lie on March 25, 1995 . From April 1, 1995, the Ultra Top 50 for the Dutch- speaking ( Flanders) and the Ultra Top 40 for the French-speaking (Wallonia) were added. The first number 1 in Flanders was Kamiel Spiessens with Het isj nie moeilijk, het isj gemakkelijk and in Wallonia it was The Cranberries with Zombie .
