Fame Academy is a casting show produced worldwide by Endemol International. It differed from other casting shows in that the candidates were housed in a boarding school where they lived and made music together.

International success

Broadcast locations of the format (dark blue states with their own shows)

The show achieved very good ratings - mostly under the titles Star Academy or Operación Triunfo - in 14 countries: Argentina , Belgium , Brazil , Bulgaria , Chile , France , Greece , Italy , Canada , Morocco , Mexico , the Netherlands , Portugal , Spain , Russia and United Kingdom ,

The German edition, which was broadcast on RTL II for three months from September 7, 2003 , was a flop and was canceled after the first season. Even the first show, with a viewership rate of 0.9 million, was far less successful than comparable formats on other channels such as Popstars and Deutschland sucht den Superstar . The live shows took place on Sundays, in each of which a candidate was selected. The audience could vote for which student should be voted "Most Wanted". This was allowed to publish a song.

Become One

The band that emerged from the German casting show was called “ Become One ” and consisted of the six candidates Ji-In Cho , who is currently singing at Krypteria , Carolin Arnold, Sedat Türüc, Thomas Bopp, David Hernandez, who is now a dancer with the No Angels danced, and Christopher Come on .

After the debut single "Don't Need Your Alibis" (# 16 in the German single charts ) and the follow-up single "Come Clean" (# 61 in the German single charts), performances at " The Dome " and "Bravo Supershow" followed ", Top of the Pops ," RTL-Mania "," MTV-Select "and" RTL2 - Apres Ski Hits ".

The band split on July 25, 2004 after a final appearance in Geiselwind (Bavaria).
