You're My Heart, You're My Soul is a Euro disco song by Modern Talking from 1984 that Dieter Bohlen wrote under the pseudonym Steve Benson.

History of origin

Piano and synth from You're My Heart, You're My Soul

In his biography Nothing but Truth , Dieter Bohlen describes that the title was originally My Love is Gone and that the basic idea for the song on Mallorca on the beach came to him. He thought that title was boring and chose You're My Heart, You're My Soul . In the Hamburg recording studio "Studio 33" founded in March 1984, he played his prepared demo recording to Thomas Anders , while co-producer Luis Rodriguez started the 24-track Revox tape machine. When recording to in C Sharp Minor held melody , there was a comb filter effect . After lengthy correction attempts , Bohlen and his co-producer Luis Rodriguez had no choice but to mix the song as it was . According to Bohlen, the production cost 1,400 DM , the sale to BMG brought in 10,000 DM. Bohlen played all the instruments himself, using the Prophet-5 synthesizer from Sequential Circuits .
