Romantic Warriors is the fifth studio album by the German pop duo Modern Talking . It was released by Hansa Records in June 1987 and is also subtitled The 5th Album . After four albums, it was the duo's first album that did not reach a top position in the charts of German-speaking countries. Nevertheless, the record reached top ten positions.

History and content

In 1987 the crisis at Modern Talking , especially between Dieter Bohlen and Thomas Anders , became obvious. The commercial success of the largely similar pieces also waned. In addition, the duo was increasingly booed and hooted at some appearances in Germany. Separation rumors made the rounds in the press, which Thomas Anders at an appearance on Na sowas! with Thomas Gottschalk in spring 1987, when he also announced the new album, still denied. Only the popularity in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union seemed unbroken, as the performances there in 1987 showed. The fifth album, like its predecessors, was co-produced by Bohlen’s friend Luis Rodriguez . Again Bohlen wrote all the pieces on the album himself, the vocals are from Thomas Anders.

The first single, Jet Airliner , was released in advance in May 1987. With seventh place, it was better placed in Germany than the previous ballad Give Me Peace on Earth from the previous album. The second single Don't Worry was only released in Spain .
