Manfred Vormstein

Manfred Vormstein (* 1931 in Gummersbach ) is a German graphic artist , illustrator , photographer and art director .

Vormstein is known not only as an illustrator of numerous books, including children's and youth literature such as Enid Blyton , but also non-fiction. The time honored his “exquisite drawings”.

He was also the Art Director of Ariola Eurodisc and has designed hundreds of music albums since the 1960s. These include albums by Boney M. , Uriah Heep , Rex Gildo , Peter Alexander , Juliane Werding , Udo Jürgens , Mireille Mathieu , Michael Holm , Elton John , Cat Stevens , The Kinks , Jethro Tull , Elvis Presley , Emerson, Lake & Palmer , Amanda Lear , Wolfgang Petry , Saragossa Band , Stefan Waggershausen , Puhdys , Status Quo , Konstantin Wecker , Roland Kaiser , Katja Ebstein , Gitte , Modern Talking , CC Catch , Blue System , Chris Norman , Bad Boys Blue and many more.

Vormstein also designed numerous classical albums by almost all well-known composers, as well as records on subjects such as the trial against Adolf Eichmann . Vormstein is listed by name as designer for over 550 albums, plus more than 80 albums that were created under his aegis until 1986 in the Ariola Eurodisc studio.
